The berries are usually a combination of strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. Organic mixed berry preserves have a long history dating back to the 18th century. The first known recipe for mixed berry preserves was published in 1769 by Amelia Simmons in her cookbook, “American Cookery.” Since then, mixed berry preserves have been enjoyed by people all over the world. In the United States, they are often eaten on toast or used as a topping for pancakes or waffles.
