While the exact origins of chili beans are not entirely clear, it is believed that they originated in the ancient civilizations of Central and South America. Native American tribes such as the Aztecs and Incas were known to cultivate and consume various types of beans, including those used in chili dishes. As European explorers began to colonize the Americas, they encountered these flavorful legumes and brought them back to their home countries. Over time, chili beans became popular ingredients in cuisines around the world. In the United States, chili con carne (chili with meat) became a staple dish during the 19th century. However, as vegetarianism gained popularity in more recent years, an alternative version emerged – vegetarian chili or chili sin carne. Organic vegetarian chili beans embody this evolution of culinary traditions. They offer a delicious plant-based option for those who prefer a meat-free diet or simply want to incorporate more vegetables into their meals. Today, organic vegetarian chili beans continue to be enjoyed by people from all walks of life. Whether you’re a long-time vegan or just looking for a hearty and nutritious meal option, these flavorful legumes are sure to satisfy your taste buds while providing essential nutrients like protein and fiber. So next time you’re craving something comforting and wholesome, give organic vegetarian chili beans a try! You won’t be disappointed by its rich history or its delightful taste! There is no cross contamination with any non-vegetarian products or animal derived ingredients in our canned beans. Some plants use well water, some use treated city water and some use a combination. Water is not filtered.

All canned beans need to be soaked prior to processing. When they are soaked they absorb water and the word “prepared” is used to account for the water being absorbed in the soaking process.

We use well water that meets all the State regulations for the canned beans.
